HyaliteFest celebrates all that we love about Hyalite - from outdoor recreation to clean water. Join in the fun August 21, 2021!
The HyaliteFest Basecamp will be at the Blackmore Trailhead, from 8:30-5 on August 21. Stop by to say hi, join us for a hike, or talk with knowledgeable people about all things Hyalite!
Join Us for a Hike
Join Friends of Hyalite and Montana Outdoor Science School for a group hike!
Join us for one of 3 group hikes to get to know Hyalite, or re-visit one of your favorite places.
West Shore Trail, 1 mile for families and small children
History Rock to Fox Creek Meadow, 8 miles round-trip
Mt. Blackmore, 12.9 miles round-trip for those looking for a more strenuous hike
To join a group hike please meet us at the Blackmore Trailhead at 9am on August 21. Hikes are limited to 15 attendees/hike. Please bring your own water, snacks, and bear spray!
Complete the Photo Safari!
The Photo Safari is a leave no trace scavenger hunt where you take pictures of natural items and learn more about Hyalite’s natural wonders during the week leading up to and including HyaliteFest (August 15-21). Everybody who completes the Photo Safari will be entered into the prize drawing. Prizes include a pendant made with Hyalite opal, an Oboz gift certificate, boots from Schnees, a daypack, water bottle and and more from REI.
