Clean Up Days

Friends of Hyalite organizes a bi-annual Clean Up in Spring and Fall with help from the Custer-Gallatin National Forest and the City of Bozeman. Over the past decade we have removed more than 10,000 pounds of garbage and recyclables from trailheads, parking lots, campsites and along roads. Clean up days are held before the road opens in May and again in the fall, before rifle season opens, and are followed by a volunteer appreciation picnic sponsored by local businesses.

Due to inclement weather, our Fall Clean Up Day has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 12. Volunteers should meet at the Hyalite Day Use Area at 12:00. We will provide gloves, tools, and trash bags. Dress for a day in the mountains and bring water.

In addition to picking up trash and cleaning out fire rings, we will be removing barbed wire fence from the Moser and Lick Creek areas.

Much appreciation goes to our fall Cleanup Day sponsors, The Pickle Barrel, Outlaw Brewing, Schnee’s Flagship Store, A Personal Touch Cleaning, and Bozeman Costco! Next time you stop in one of these wonderful local businesses make sure to thank them for supporting Friends of Hyalite!
