Friends of Hyalite organizes a bi-annual Clean Up in Spring and Fall with help from the Custer-Gallatin National Forest and the City of Bozeman. Over the past decade we have removed more than 10,000 pounds of garbage and recyclables from trailheads, parking lots, campsites and along roads. Clean up days are held before the road opens in May and on the day before rifle season begins in October and are followed by a volunteer appreciation party sponsored by local businesses.
